How to use Sequence Enroll
Everything you need to get up and running in minutes. Install the app, add the workflow actions, and start enrolling contacts in sequences from any workflow type.
On this page
1. Install the app
Sequence Enroll is available on the HubSpot Marketplace. Installation takes one click and grants the app the scopes needed to read sequences, contacts, and associations and to create enrollments.
- Open the HubSpot Marketplace and search for "Sequence Enroll".
- Click "Install app" and select the HubSpot account where you want to install it.
- Approve the requested scopes. You'll be redirected back to the app's home page in HubSpot.
- On first install you get 50 free enrollments — no credit card required.
2. Enroll in Sequence action
Add this action anywhere in a workflow to enroll the resolved contact into the sequence you choose. You configure the sequence, the sender (a specific user or the contact's owner), and — for non-contact workflows — which associated contacts to enroll.
- Sequence — pick the target sequence from the dropdown. The list comes from your portal in real time.
- Sender Type — choose between Specific User (one fixed sender for all enrollments) or Contact Owner (dynamic, uses each contact's assigned owner).
- User + From Email — visible only when Sender Type is Specific User. Pick the user and one of their connected email addresses.
- Owner Property — visible only when Sender Type is Contact Owner. Pick which owner property to read from the contact (defaults to hubspot_owner_id).
- Which Contacts to Enroll — only relevant for non-contact workflows. Choose "All associated contacts" or filter by association label.

3. Unenroll from Sequence action
Removes the resolved contact from any active sequence enrollment. Zero configuration — just add the action to your workflow.
Common use cases: when a contact converts to a customer, when they reply to an email, or when a deal moves to a closed stage — automatically pull them out of the active sequence.
Unenroll from Sequence
Workflow Action
No configuration needed
Simply add this action to any workflow. When a contact, deal, ticket, lead, company, or custom object reaches this step, the associated contact is automatically removed from any active sequence enrollment.
4. Working with non-contact objects
When the workflow is for any object that isn't a contact (deals, tickets, leads, companies, invoices, custom objects), Sequence Enroll automatically resolves the contacts associated with the enrolled object via the HubSpot associations API.
If the workflow object has multiple associated contacts and you want to target only some of them, use the "Which Contacts to Enroll" field to filter by association label (for example: "Decision Maker", "Billing Contact"). The default option "All associated contacts" enrolls every linked contact.
If the enrolled object has no associated contacts, the action returns "No associated contacts found" in the workflow history and skips the step.
5. Plans and limits
Free Trial gives you 50 enrollments to try the app — no credit card. Paid plans renew monthly (or yearly for Professional) and reset enrollment counts at each billing period.
- Starter — $25/mo, 500 enrollments/mo, Contact + Lead + Ticket workflows
- Plus — $99/mo, 3,000 enrollments/mo, adds Deal and Invoice workflows
- Professional — $1,799/yr, 10,000 enrollments/mo, all workflow types including Company and Custom Objects
Manage your subscription from the app's Settings page in HubSpot.
6. Troubleshooting
- "Contact is already enrolled in a sequence" — A contact can only be in one active sequence at a time. Unenroll them first or wait for the current sequence to finish.
- "The sender does not have a Sales Hub or Service Hub Professional seat" — The selected user must have a paid Sales or Service Hub seat. Free seats can't send sequences.
- "The selected sender does not have a connected email inbox" — Connect the user's email inbox in HubSpot first.
- "Your plan's enrollment limit has been reached" — Upgrade your plan in Settings or wait for the next billing period.
- "This workflow object type is not available on your current plan" — Some object types are reserved for higher plans. Upgrade or use one of the supported objects for your plan.
